Lake Victoria (Africa)

Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake is bordered by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanazania.  Boat safaris and rich biodiversity draw visitors to its shores. Yet, it’s heavily contaminated with microplastics, reaching 2,140 particles/m³ near urban areas, sourced from poor waste management, threatening fish and the 40 million people reliant on it [1][2].
